Do You Long to Make a Difference in the World?
As we approach not only a New Year but a new decade, rather than make a typical New Year’s Resolution such as losing weight or exercising more, why not resolve to make a change in your professional life. If you are currently in a career that does not serve others, maybe it is time to pursue a position that allows you to make a difference in someone else’s life such as working in senior living.
A study published in the Journal of Health and Social Behavior found that service to others can “increase happiness, life satisfaction, self-esteem, sense of control over life, physical health, and help fight against depression.” A job serving others also typically includes working with a group of people who share your values and intuitively understand it is a privilege to serve others. It can offer opportunities to learn new things, develop new skills that can be applied to many career paths, and to work as a team. Serving others will most likely introduce you to a wide range of interesting people.
At the MorningStar senior living communities, our goal is to build a team of service professionals who feel called and connected, and understand the importance of investing in each other and our resident-families. In addition we encourage our team members to explore their unique talents and reach their fullest potential. Also career advancement is common at our MorningStar homes as we try to promote from within when possible. And as part of our MorningStar staff, you will most certainly enjoy working as a team and building relationships with fellow team members, residents, and visitors.
Currently MorningStar is recruiting individuals with a felt calling to serve to fill a variety of assisted living jobs in West Des Moines, IA; Billings, MT; Sparks, NV and several other communities.
